    Hi all, Cool

Although I added a few piccies to my 'Welcome thread', I've never actually created a "members rides" topic, so, here we go!

53 plate Audi A4 Avant 1.9 TDi 130 Quattro Sport. 106k on the clock.

..and with my latest edition, the RS mirrors (not the best photo!)

Very pleased with the look now though.

And, just for grins, here's a quick vid of me enjoying the snow:

    Such a great car! Clap

Thats a gret looking car Jim, the mirrors really go well against the deep blue and pick out the rest of the chrome. Wheels look immaculate - have you had them refurbed? Mine could do with some TLC!

    Thanks John!

Sorry I didn't get back to your thread RE pictures lol.. Seems you found them here anyway..

Yeah - I'm very pleased with the car. Not your average 22 years olds choice, but, it serves a purpose and looks the part!

The wheels haven't been re-furbed, no. I've had them off twice since ownership in March 09 and given them the works. Just keeping on top of them keeps them in tip-top conidtion. What is your current process for wheel cleaning? Wonder if I can help at all..

    Jim

You'll probably cringe - but wheel acid and a hot steam cleaner is my wheel cleaning method! Then I dry them, and each time I polish the car I give the wheels a coat too. Unfortunately it looks like the garage I bought the car from did a cheapie refurb job, as they have deteriorated badly, with some of the top layer of paint / laquer now peeling in places - hence I said they could do with a refurb. OR it could be a good escuse to get new wheels - maybe some of the A5 s-line 19's!? . . . .

John, can you expand further on 'wheel acid'? Wonder Wheels..?

If you DO have them refurbed, i'd certainly look at changing your chosen wheel cleaner.. Take a look at Bilberry - an all-round safe cleaner. Not acidic! You could find that the 'wheel acid' you're using is playing a part in ruining the wheels..

Bilberry. EZ-Detail brush. A few smaller detailing brushes and a dedicated wheel mit and you're laughing.

    Well said..

Mind, once the wheels are cleansed and protected, you should really only need ordinary suds to clean.
