Cheers Guys for your reply & opinion ... I think im going to leave the car in its priginal condition for 2-3 months and then start doing some mods Stick out tongue ... first on my wishlist is installing rns-e ... took her today to snake pass for a drive (between sheffield & manchester) and that car is fun to drive on both high & low speeds when doing corners and also on 2-3 mile straight stretch  ... this is my first proper audi experience & im loving it  Stick out tongue ..my gf is so jealous now  that she wants to exchange her bmw 1 series with my a3 lol (not happening).

The Owners Manual says 1000 miles ... mine already had 1200 miles on it as it was finance directors car and she got an upgrade to A5 and this one was 4k cheaper than the new one for same spec Stick out tongue .. I can use that money to get rns-e & s3 brake dics Stick out tongue

Damn sorry to hear that. Was it a door that opened onto it or is the scratch too high? Really annoying.

sorry to hear that Sal - know the feeling when some t--t opened their car door into the side of my last Audi

you know, some folks call us 'sad' and  say "its only a peice of metal" but when you work/graft BLOODY HARD! to own decent motors i find it sad that some sickos (choosing my wording very carefully) take pleasure in de-facing peoples properties - may they contract a long, painful venerial disease!!

good luck with the repair mate

is it jake that works for panelcare? think his user neame is jakewalsh hes had some good reviews on correctional stuff from what ive read, only ever bad one i read was on a silver car which didnt look off think it was someone being a cnut! is the scratch white(has i it gone through the paint?) if not coule be worth try scratchX or similar on such a small scratch could save having paint, or buffing the area could work out cheaper and just as effective. hope you get it sorted mate, just jealousy all it is you cant have ote nice with the little chavvy #$£%^# about!

    Hi ,

I need your advice... its only been a week or so i bought this car ... recently i washed my car and found some cosmetic defects.. took it to my local dealer and he said its been resprayed (the right side n etc) .. spoke to the dealer i bought it from .. n he said they arent aware of any such thing n etc .. they took the car back yesterday to have a look at it ... today they rang and apologised saying yes you are right .. they given me two options :

    1. get this one reapired upto our standards

    2. exchange the car with similar specs with 7 miles on clock but that car doesnt have auto lights and have drl option  instead and is finished in brilliant black and not phantom black..

    Please Help

I know you say it was a Finance Director's car but was it owned by the dealer?

How much damage are we talking? Don't Audi have a 30day guarentee, ie if you're not happy, you get a refund?

I certainly wouldn't accept a lower spec car.

Yes they do but that 30 day guarentee under used car programme states that if the fault is irrepairable they will exchange the car ... im ok with the color as phantom didnt go with my taste as in sunlight it gave a hint of dark blue (charcoal) .. i've asked them to look into the installation of auto light as a goodwill payment ...

That seems to be a considerable amount of respray work which makes me wonder how much damage was done to the car originally. The only thing I can suggest is to contact the previous owner on the logbook and ask them why the car was resprayed. If it was sprayed because of faulty original paintwork then maybe that's not such a big deal. If it's accident damage then that's a whole different story.

I can't help but think that this is a car that's had faulty original paintwork, has been poorly repaired and then rejected. I think getting in touch with the previous keeper is the best option.
