This is a quick guide for anyone with the problem of a (B6/B7 Audi A4) boot latch that wont close.
Remove the warning triangle and its housing

This plastic cover simply pulls off

Unscrew this screw behind the handle

The carpet/ hardboard trim pulls off every 6 inches or so by pulling off these clips

The View

This motorised actuator pulls the mechanism, which opens and allows the mechanism to close. The actuator is powered by the switch you press on the exterior when opening the boot.

Replace this part, which is held in position by 3 torx head small bolts, or alternatively take it apart (below)

Inside this red plastic part is a spring loaded wire which reverses the motor after the motor has done its full travel. If you listen to a fully operational actuator you will hear the zip of the motor, and then a zip that sounds different. This is the spring reversing the motor. WHen the spring gets weak it doesnt have the torque needed to reverse the motor. You can turn the spring to torque it up more and sometimes this works. It did on mine.

Do you really like it? Is it is it wicked?
