Hi, ive got the car booked in for tints on sat and i'm in 2 minds whether to do the front 2 windows. I was curious to what tint you can get away with, i know its illegal to have fronts tinted but i see cars all the time with light tints on the front.

As far as I know, you can't tint the front windows anything further than standard factory tints.

 Dave is correct here,you might get away with it if its a light smoke but is it worth paying good money to have to take them back off again,normally it makes the car too dark inside when the nights start getting dark early also,normally with the backs done it takes a lot of the light from inside the car anyway making it appear darker

 ring the old bill up and ask.

I don't really see the need to do the fronts, but then again i would only lights tint the back ones.

 If you get pulled tell them to go and catch some criminals!!! Don't say "fast init?!" though like I used too!!

The chances of you getting pulled depends on the area your in - I'm in the midlands and everycar I have has tints front rear side and I've never had an issue and without divulging to much I've never had what the tint company recommend ;)

Personally I would not worry, and if you see a jam sandwich coming near you put your front windows down sharpish!

Hope these pictures help - mine are as dark as they could be on the rears and pretty dark on the front. I had the same set up on a silver Audi and they looked slightly lighter - tints will always appear darker on darker cars.

nice, dont think i want mine that dark i would definatly get pulled if i had that on the front lol. just out of interest what percentage tint do audi put on the privacy glass when ordered as an extra from the showroom???

 I'm in two minds about getting tints for mine, I've not seen enough with tints to know how they would suit the colour and which transmission darkness to go for.

yes the levels are spot on and the work was good although i had to fix a bit of trim that was loose on the tailgate but it only took 5mins so overall i am pleased with spending £170

Very nice, I think mine is going to have to be done,

 A friend of mine has just got his done. Hes had limo tints on the rear + light smoke on the front, so far he hasnt had any issues with the police.

I guess it varies in diffrent parts of the uk where the police are more strict then others.

i wouldnt have my windows tinted but thats because the color of my car doesnt match with black windows if i had a silver or black car i would consider getting all four done in the above shades.

i have had 30% tints for a whole year. Live in birmingham and never had a priblem.

But last month i was in south yorkshire got a 30 quid fine. not bad as they didnt make me rip the tint off. i also had a spaced out numberplate which they didnt see,

had them on 2 months now, i do 200 miles a week around bradford and ive had no trouble at all

 well over were im from u cant really jsut get the back 3 done.. needs to be all the windows lol... my a4 is currently sittin with being full tinted only letting in 30% light from each window front and back... ohh and when i mean full tinted i mean it lol... i have the front window fully tinted aswell lol

 I had a silver 3 series before my A4 and had Medium tint in the back and light in the front. ran for 3 years all over the country and never had any issues at all. But I did wish that I had gone darker in the back. When It rained always looked darker and much meaner. Now if someone can tell me how to add a picture I'll post a pic?

 i think the law is that the front windows must let in 70% light  the police in certain areas do carry light meters and measure accordingly .Obviously you may get away with it or you may not but you can be made to remove the offending tints also if the police want to be really funny they can say your car is unroadworthy and your insurance void and in certain areas have the power to seize and impound your vehicle .
